Honda CRF250R Hybrid

We have featured two of Lance Lattimer's youth class hybrid racers. So when Yamaha and Honda won't build what today's kids need, he does it himself.ATV Rider

Like many race ATV’s this build started as a 2005 Honda TRX450r. What makes it so unique is that the engine is out of and a 2009 Honda CRF250X dirt bike. This combo was needed to build 15 year old Emily Lattimer a competitive racer for the local races and GNCC circuit.

After bookoo man hours her father, Lance Lattimer and a master fabricator/friend Michael Williams they merged the 2 machines into 1. The build began by dis-assembling both machines to start with a fresh powder coated frame. Next they stuffed the electric start version crf 250X motor into the stock Honda chassis utilizing the TRX oil cooler with Jagg oil cooler conversion kit. Atv Fourplay did the leg work on the motor mounting system getting the powerplant set in place. Actually the swap didn’t require any cutting or welding, so when this races improves even more, they can re install the 450cc engine and be back on the track.

Honda's CRF250X dirt bike engine can be used in a TRX450R chassis. You would just want to call ATV Four Play for the engine mounts.ATV Rider

After getting the radiator fabricated up to accommodate the smaller dirtbke engine, the basic quad was coming to life. Motowaz built a set of shocks tuned for this application matching with Houser A-arms and Swimgarm linkage.

Protection came from Ryland Johnson Racing with front bumper, rear grab bar , and heel guards. Hidden protection came from Vanilla Gorilla utilizing his full belly skid, sprocket guard, rotor guard and radiator guard.

JT Sprockets and chains were used to put the power to the GBC tire package for this 250. Spider Graphix , and Fourwerx Carbon were the Go to companies for making Lattimer’s Hi $ hybrids look the best.
