Calendar alert: The Big East Powersports Show is less than a month away, running from October 4–6 in Syracuse, New York. This year marks the 30th anniversary of what began as an early fall gathering for snowmobilers getting ready to hit winter’s white trails. But, as with powersports in general, the event has grown to serve a much larger audience. Show Sales Director Mark Rosacker said, “It’s always been primarily a snowmobile-first show, given its history and timing. But in recent years we’ve seen more folks interested in also seeing ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and more, and that’s been reflected in our increasingly diverse vendor roster.”
The show’s location at the New York State Fairgrounds provides indoor space and outdoor runs for UTV and ATV demo rides that vendors and tire kickers love. Inside, Can-Am and Polaris are regulars, local dealers tripling up on their snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs. CFMoto will also be there for a third year in a row with a booth full of its trail rigs and motorcycles.
This is also the kind of show where visitors can take some big equipment home since there’s a powersports swap meet held on one of the side lots.
Considering the show’s big birthday, organizers say they have a bunch of all-new interactions coming, aiming to get people there and give them a reason to hang around longer than ever. Organizer EPG Media hasn’t filled out the list of vendors and festivities on the Big East website yet, so give it a few weeks and then have a look. And if you’re in or you’re near Syracuse in early October, consider stopping by.
