2025 Can-Am Maverick R Max Leaked Via CARB Filing

The documents have been confirmed as being legitimate.

CARB filings show a four-seat Can-Am Maverick R is on the way.Can-Am

Thanks to California Air Resources Board filings, it looks like Can-Am has a four-seat Maverick R on the way for 2025. RideApart found the documents on CARB’s website. They show a new Maverick R Max vehicle running the Rotax 999T engine, a turbocharged three-cylinder mill with up to 240 hp. There are four new Maverick models in total: the R Max, R Max X, R Max RS, and R Max X RS SAS.

Until now, the Polaris RZR Pro R has been the only game in town if you want to take more than one passenger on an 80 mph desert run. We’re curious to see how the Maverick R Max handles with an extra row of seats, and how its unique suspension setup translates to a longer chassis.

Can-Am is also cutting the existing 854cc and 976cc engines in favor of a 999cc unit for the Outlander ATVs. It’ll make between 82.1 and 100.1 hp, notable improvements over the outgoing engines’ power levels. The Outlander will also be available in new trims in 2025, including a new Pro Max HD7 Hunting Edition and Pro Max XU HD7.

UTV Driver reached out to Can-Am/BRP and received a statement from a representative confirming these documents’ validity. More information will become available after Can-Am’s media briefing on August 20, which will cover all the new models for 2025.
