Human remains discovered July 22 in Mill Creek Canyon near Moab, Utah, have been identified as Maranda Ankofski, 50, who went missing after a June 21 flash flood. Ankofski and her husband Ray were on an annual off-roading trip to Moab from their home in Pearland, Texas, when they were apparently caught in the flood. Their UTV was later found, as were a pair of pants that contained Ray Ankofski’s wallet.

Authorities are still searching for Ray Ankofski’s remains. The search for the missing couple was reclassified from a rescue effort to a recovery mission on June 28, a week after the pair went missing. The couple’s daughter started a GoFundMe to assist with the recovery effort, according to the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman.
