Pro Armor Quick Shot Review

Getting a flat while you’re out on the trail can totally kill the momentum of fun during a day on the trail. The only thing that can make it worse is not having the tools to help you get the job done, one of the most important being a quality jack. The Quick Shot from Pro Armor was created to help eliminate this problem and even be of more assist with its many features. If and when you decide to get a Quick Shot, which I highly recommend you do, you’ll notice that everything is nicely packaged and the assembly is simple enough that a young child could handle the task.

Once it’s assembled you can see the benefits of the Quick Shot in its entirety. The large aluminum base to which the supplied jack mounts acts as a large plate to ensure that the jack will not move unexpectedly or sink into soft dirt or sand where you may be forced to use it in. The box also includes a set of QuickFist quick-release clamps that allow you to hold everything from a Maglight-style flashlight to a small shovel which you might need to dig yourself out of a sticky situation. There is no shortage of holes drilled into the base plate, so you can purchase more QuickFist clamps and mount as many items as your heart desires. I opted to attach a Kolpin Fuel Pack JR mount to the top of mine so I could keep an extra bit of fuel for my long rides.

Securing the Quick Shot in place during travel is handled by the supplied tiedown loops and ratcheting tiedown strap that is provided in the box. I chose to mount the Quick Shot on the spare tire carrier that I had recently installed on my Polaris RZR 4 in preparation for a long adventure ride, and I must say that despite all of the bouncing this machine did, the Quick Shot never came loose and my flashlight, shovel and Fuel Pack were all held securely in place. The only negative I could find was the quick-release hooks used on the hold-down straps; the material used for these is a little on the thin side and I noticed they had started to stretch after only a weekend of riding. Other than this small hang-up, I've been happy with the Pro Armor Quick Shot and look forward to many more trips with it on my SxS.-Eli Madero
