Honda announced this week that its venerable FourTrax Recon ATV will return for the 2022 model year. The multipurpose four-wheeler is known for durability and boasts the reputation of a machine that is as reliable as they come for chores, but still fun to throw a leg over for aimless trail rides. We’re glad to see it sticking around for another year even if it is ready for an update, as it rounds out Honda’s ATV lineup and is a great tool for many who want an entry-level machine with room to grow on.
Although somewhat small, the Recon is light and extremely maneuverable. It’s a fun machine despite being somewhat antiquated, and it returns unchanged for the 2022 model year. Power comes via a 229cc engine and is sent solely to the rear tires, and the unique-to-Honda ESP push-button shifting remains available. The FourTrax Recon is offered in three colors for 2022: Red, Moose Brown, and Orange Zest. The standard Recon rings in at $4,499 and the ES with its rider-shiftable gearbox costs $4,749.
