We should probably be thanking Taylor Sheridan for bringing Westerns back to television and the big screen. The screenwriter, producer, film director, and actor is the creative force behind the current Paramount Network megahit series Yellowstone, the miniseries 1883 (a prequel to Yellowstone) and 2016′s four-time Oscar-nominated Hell or High Water. These shows have made such a stir that other production companies are moving forward with modern Western themes—including Amazon Prime.
Entertainment news website Collider describes Amazon’s Outer Range as Yellowstone meets Stranger Things, and after watching the first two episodes, we concur. The series, starring Josh Brolin, is about a cattle rancher trying to save his land while dealing with a paranormal element, which takes center stage.
One thing that stood out to us, as ATV enthusiasts, is the use of several Polaris Sportsman 570 ATVs in the making of the series. While the Kawasaki Mule got a mention one time in Yellowstone’s four seasons, the Polaris Sportsman has already made several appearances in the first two episodes of Outer Range.
You can currently watch the first two episodes of Outer Range on Amazon Prime. Episodes 3 and 4 drop on April 22 with remaining episodes airing two at a time each week thereafter. Check out the trailer below for a preview, as well as the Polaris Sportsman’s big screen debut.
