Clay County, Kentucky, officials announced possible powersports initiatives in the near future in the form of a new off-road park. They’re currently working on an Adventure Tourism Initiative that would work to bring additional tax dollars into the rural county located just east of London, Kentucky. Clay County is nestled within the foothills of Central Appalachia and sits just off Interstate 75 in eastern Kentucky.
Tourism Director Tim Parks said two possible locations are in the initial stages of review to identify a good fit. The hope is an additional off-road park would help boost year-round tourism to the local community.
The area already plays host to ATV enthusiasts with several OHV trailheads, a sprawling outdoor recreational area, brand-new ATV club, and D&K Off-Road Park. With more than 4,000 total acres of outdoor adventure space, Manchester, the county seat, claims the title of Trail Town. Locals invite anyone passionate about the outdoors to come pay a visit to their neck of the woods. The addition of another park confirms how serious the community is about creating safe, organized space for powersports enthusiasts.
Clay County officials hope to have additional updates by summer 2022.
