Nothing beats learning from those who are the best in their discipline. Knowing this, Yamaha is offering another year of its prestigious Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) University. Registrations for spots in the 2022 class have just opened, and the teaching staff, coursework, and location all seem top-notch.
A class is only as good as its teachers, and Yamaha has stacked its GNCC University with professors of the highest degree. Walker Fowler, Johnny Gallagher, Traci Pickens, Danny Fowler, Mark Notman, Josh Merritt, and Jeff Pickens are all on staff to lead the ATV classes. This assortment of teachers has double-digit championships between them plus decades of racing and wrenching experience. The topics covered aren’t just how to go as fast as possible over a given course, but also sportsmanship practices, training, proper nutrition, and race preparation.
For the first time ever, Yamaha is covering the cost of tuition for all those attending its GNCC University by tapping into the brand’s bLU cRU scholarship fund. Students will only be responsible for paying their room and board. Yamaha invites “up-and-coming off-road racers and riders” to join them at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. The school will take place June 22–24, and flows directly into a full weekend of GNCC racing. There are only 40 spots available, so those interested should apply immediately. More information can be found here.
“The Yamaha GNCC University is a fun and unique opportunity for both next-generation and current off-road racers to sharpen their riding and racing skills, while creating memories alongside reigning and previous champions,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s motorsports group marketing manager. “This year, we’re thrilled to offer free tuition to all students, courtesy of Yamaha’s bLU cRU support program, and look forward to welcoming racers to this one-of-a-kind experience put on with the aid of legends of the sport, our partners at GNCC, and the Snowshoe Resort to refine rider talents on and off the track.”
