Lone Star Off Road Park

It’s the newest off-road park in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Build it and they will come. That might be the best motto for Ken Schaumburg, owner of the recently opened Lone Star Off Road Park. “We’re the only off-road park in the Metroplex,” claims Schaumburg, who opened the park because he was tired of driving two hours to visit other off-road parks. Lone Star Off Road Park is right in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.

The park brings a piece of off-road paradise into the big city. It consists of 150 acres featuring 15 miles of rugged and weaving 4x4 trails. Off-roaders can enjoy the woodlands, creeks, ponds, local wildlife, seasonal snow, and lots of mud once inside. “It is surprisingly dramatic back here,” Schaumburg says. “It’ll surprise you that there’s land this pretty right in the middle of Dallas-Fort Worth.”

Lone Star Off Road Park welcomes Jeeps, ATVs, OHVs, and almost anything with four wheels. The park is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All parkgoers are required to sign a liability waiver before entering. Admission is $20 a day.
