Ever since acquiring the Polaris RZR 4, this machine has been my vehicle of choice for daylong excursions since it gives me the capability to take more than one passenger along for the experience. One problem with having extra passengers is that you need more storage for any items they might want to bring, like jackets and cameras, on top of the basic first-aid and tire repair kits that I pack for the trail. When you begin adding on the need for a cooler to hold drinks and lunch, such limited secure storage space can leave you puzzled as to where everything can go without sacrificing the passengers' comfort.
When I first came across the UTV Modular Pack from Tusk, I figured it would be like every other generic UTV bag on the market, but I was proven wrong. The three-piece modular design made this one of the most versatile I've ever seen. All three are constructed of 600-denier polyester and have heavy-duty zippers to ensure all of your contents stay inside during the roughest rides. To keep the three pieces together, heavy-duty nylon webbing straps are used as well as webbed handles on the sides for easy transport when not on the UTV. The main compartment has semi-rigid felt-lined walls and a removable divider, and is capable of holding anything you can toss in there including the kitchen sink. I used the divider to separate one side of the bag for my trail accessoriesa first-aid kit, tire repair kit and spare partswhile the other side held things like jackets and any item I didn't want to get dirty. The lid also has an elastic webbed cord to secure even more on top.
The sides of the pack are insulated coolers, which I found even more convenient since I could store drinks in one and food in the other without worry of my lunch getting smashed. In the time that I've been using the Tusk UTV pack the only snag I've noticed is the black material slightly fading from being out in the sun, but so far it has not compromised the strength of the material. At the very least I figured that sand, dust and mud might have affected the operation of the zippers, but I've never had any problems. Eli Madero
